Hot weeks for the ACI Sport rally sector in preparation for the next sporting season. The latest official features are now joined by the launch of the Italian Rally Junior 2022 Championship. A series that is strongly renewed and strengthened, to add a further piece to the broader framework concerning the Youth Project of the Automobile Club of Italy, developed by ACI Sport. In fact, various innovations were presented by the leaders of the Federation, together with Motorsport Italia and Pirelli, respectively sole manager and technical partner of the program, to a large group of young drivers during the virtual meeting held last Monday 13 December.
 
NEW RENAULT | About 40 young people, all born after 1994, were invited to the meeting useful to present the project in a 2022 key. The ten names of the next ACI Team Italia colors will come from the initial list of those selected. The first significant change concerns the means. The crews of CIR Junior 2022 will compete at the wheel of the Renault Clio Rally5, the new cars with 1.3 turbo engine of 180 hp and 300 Nm. It does not end here, because the partnership between ACI Sport and Renault Sport together with the support of Pirelli will give further development also following the project, which starts right from the national championship. The winner will have the opportunity to participate in 6 races of the FIA ​​European Rally Championship 2023 as a prize, again as a representative of the ACI Team Italia National Team.
 
THE RALLY SCHOOL | Another interesting novelty concerns the growing contribution of the ACI Sport Federal School "Michele Alboreto" within the CIR Junior. In fact, in recent years the University of Motoring has carried out tutoring activities to support the drivers on the racing fields. In the next year the work will be even more intense and the training will be completed with a series of extra tests, outside the championship. The registered pilots will benefit from a series of sessions, both on dirt and asphalt, during which they will carry out educational and preparatory activities ranging from the practical part to the theoretical insights, including notes and regulations. Leading the group of young people during these tests will be Federal Instructor Paolo Andreucci.
 
THE CALENDAR | Last but not least, the calendar for CIR Junior 2022 was illustrated, which will always be based on six events, two dirt roads and four on asphalt. Various confirmations such as Sanremo, San Marino, Roma Capitale, 1000 Miglia and some news, or rather returns, such as the Adriatic and the Two Valleys between the stages of next season.
