With the publication of the Specific Race Regulations, the curtain opens on the Rally di Roma Capitale 2022. The event organized by Motorsport Italia scheduled from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 July, will celebrate its tenth birthday this year with an unmissable event valid for the FIA European Rally Championship and for the Sparco Absolute Italian Rally Championship.

Motorsport Italia's technical staff has worked with great passion to design a route worthy of celebrating this birthday, and what has been released today is a high-level itinerary with 187 kilometers of special stages and timed sections of over 30 kilometers.

The event has opened registration with the procedures that as always will take place only through the portal registration.fia.com/ercita, with the sports program that will intensify starting from Wednesday 20 July with collective tests and the opening of the Service Park. SkyGate confirmed once again in Fiuggi.

The route will be largely revised. The shakedown and the Qualifying Stage will use the usual route set up in Fumone, scheduled for 22 July, before the departure from Rome confirmed at Castel Sant’Angelo from 19:00.

After the great success of last year in Caracalla, the 2022 edition will also open the competition with a city show trial whose design around the Colosseum is being confirmed and will be unveiled in the coming weeks. It goes without saying that it will represent one of the hallmarks of the event, a high-impact prologue that will deserve all the media attention focused on the event.

Saturday 23 the first stage with six special stages. “Roccasecca-Colle San Magno” will open, the shortest of the race with 5.50km followed by the “Santopadre-Fontana Liri” of 29.08km, the main timed stretch of the first day. Third special the "Guarcino-Altipiani" of 11.85km. Each test will be repeated twice, with reorganization and assistance in Fiuggi in the middle of the day.

On Sunday 24th another six special stages (three for two laps) with the new 6.45km “Fiuggi” opening and then closing as Power Stage, given that in the new FIA ERC regulations a timed section is foreseen as in the WRC to award bonus points. The other tests will be the "Affile-Bellegra" of 7.34 kilometers and a very long "Cave-Subiaco" of 32.50km, one of the longest stages of the entire championship. The arrival, in Fiuggi, is scheduled from 17:00.

“We did a great job - said Max Rendina - all the staff did a great job. In my opinion, the route is one of the most beautiful ever, with really technical and difficult tests and the unprecedented and unrepeatable opening to the Colosseum that we can't wait to reveal. Designing and setting up the Cave-Subiaco of over 30km was a gamble that I think makes the difference in this journey, but also the Friday stage will be just as demanding. More than any other time I believe that the Rally di Roma Capitale will be selective and spectacular, winning it will represent a great honor. Rome and the historic center of the capital will be the inevitable opening theater: we want to leave an important mark again ".
